Hey Saskatchewan!
Hey Saskatchewan! Are you ready for the spring thaw and flooding we are likely to experience?
Here are a few little to no cost precautions you should do:
1. Remove the snow from around your house foundation now!
2. Extend your eaves trough downspouts away from the house foundation at least 10 feet.
3. Ensure your sump pump works; is plugged in and able to discharge water, and has a battery backup pump.
4. Pick up anything you have stored on the basement floor and place in plastic storage bins or at least,
get off the floor.
5. Ensure your floor drain is clear of debris so water can get to it.
6. Watch your eaves troughs- if they are leaking or loose- fix them quickly!
7. Go play in the water!... put your rubber boots on, grab a spade and trench any standing water away
from the house.
