In Memory of Corey O. Renneberg
Corey O. Renneberg passed away in BC on August 23, 2018. He was murdered by people who took advantage of his big heart and charitable ways.
Corey worked in many of our customers homes and was highly praised by all. His attention to detail, hard work ethic, unwavering responsibility and pure congeniality struck customers at their heart.
When customers are told of his death, many break down in tears.. he was so inspirational to them after working in their home for only one week.
In his memory, his family has developed "Corey's Kit". This kit contains a toothbrush, toothpaste, bar of soap and a comb as well as an information card explaining its significance. This "act of kindness" kit is given out to people seeking mental health help at Mental Health and Addiction clinics, Hospitals, and Detox intakes. When the person comes into this facility, feeling like no one in the world cares, a Corey's Kit is given to them, to give them some sense of humanity back. In a recent outreach in Saskatoon, 400 or so men showed up and were given choices of food, clothing, deoderants, etc. to pick from. They cleared out the 75 Corey's Kits that were available even before choosing food items. The Outreach organizers were amazed.
It is our hope that we can honor Corey's life and do some good even in his death by continuing to make Corey's Kits from donations received. If you feel you would like to contribute; please contact Anita at 1-306-682-2128 for more information.
